Funny Vegetable Name!

Was wit Joan, Eileen & Mum @ supermarket when out of a sudden, Joan stopped to look at the below pic.. When we realised wat she's lookin at.. all laughed like hell! BTW, MACHO Joan was the one who took tis pic... haha..

The sign is actually trying to illustrate a kind of vegetable (left pic) named as Chinese White Cabbage / Bok Choy / Nai Bai Cai. Also, nicknamed as "Pa Bor Cai".


The Funny Part!!

This "Pa Bor Cai" in hokkien means BEAT WIFE VEGETABLE - There was a lil' story about this vegetable. (The characteristic of this vegetable: Uncooked, it's big but when it's cooked, it shrinks drastically!!)

"Encyclopedia-Joan" says...

In the past there was this couple... One day, the wife cooked a dish of this vegetable for the husband... When the husband saw this dish, he was very angry, thinking that the wife must have committed adultery and scooped out a portion, saving it for her lover!! As guessed, this stupid husband beat up his wife.. Tat's why from then on, it's nicknamed as "Pa Bor Cai" - BEAT WIFE VEGETABLE!! Hahah..
